On 9th November 2024, we turned 25! Here is our story:
November 1999
Graham Shemmings started Homestyle UK Windows from his converted garage in Kesgrave with his daughter Karen, his first employee. To celebrate our 25th birthday, we are giving a gift to our customers!
April 2000
After a successful opening, Graham leased his first commercial premises on Foxhall Road and the company grew rapidly.
September 2002
Graham saw a gap in the market for supply only products and opened Tradesupply Windows, the sister company to Homestyle UK Windows, in Rapier St, Ipswich. He expanded the family business by appointing two of his sons, Daniel and Christopher as directors and Karen as Finance Director.
July 2003
With extensive work required on the Foxhall Road site, Graham moved Homestyle UK Windows into the Tradesupply Windows premises at Rapier St, creating a one stop shop for every customers needs.
March 2010
After a successful period, the Rapier St premises could no longer cope with both companies being under one roof so Graham moved Homestyle UK Windows into Gloster Rd, Martlesham and created a large showroom offering the latest products.
June 2014
Graham was offered the chance to buy another window and door company called Micron Windows, based in Newmarket that had been established since 1980 and family run. With the owner wanting to retire, Graham acquired the company and employed the retired owners son, Richard, to help run the company day to day.
September 2014
After seeing a big jump in customers from Woodbridge and surrounding areas at our Tradesupply Windows counter in Ipswich, Graham decided to open a trade and DIY counter in Martlesham, just around the corner from Homestyle UK Windows offering windows, doors etc and many items for the DIY market.
August 2015
After struggling with the supply of aluminium products for a few years, Graham decided to open his own aluminium manufacturing business from our Ipswich Tradesupply branch enabling us to control the quality of our products.
June 2016
St Elizabeth Hospice launched the Pigs Gone Wild fundraising event in Ipswich and Graham had no hesitation in signing up Homestyle UK Windows as a sponsor. He leased a truck for the hospice to use, and held various fundraising events to raise additional money and actually raised £10,000!
June 2019
Homestyle UK Windows once again supported St Elizabeth Hospice with their fundraising event Elmer's Big Parade. We sponsored the "Castle on the Hill" Elmer which was inspired by Ed Sheeran's music.
January 2020
We moved into our new premises at 7 Betts Avenue along with our Martlesham branch of Tradesupply Windows at the start of the global Coronavirus pandemic. Graham and his family built a showroom from scratch during the lockdown on a shoe string budget.
May 2021
Graham was diagnosed with lung cancer. He immediately set up a JustGiving page for St Elizabeth Hospice so his friends, family and business associates could donate money but continued to work throughout his treatment.
November 2021
Sadly, Graham lost his battle with cancer and passed away on 30th November leaving his business to the children. Homestyle became his legacy.
February 2022
Keen to keep the business running as Graham would have wanted, and giving it longevity, his children embarked on a mission to revamp the showroom in his honour and move the company forward for years to come!
June 2022
Our showroom is complete and we hold a grand opening to celebrate! We are also a Supporting Partner of The Big Hoot, another St Elizabeth Hospice event, continuing Graham's passion to support the hospice.
March 2023
We introduced an innovative product to our range, Kubu® Smart Security. Kubu allows us to be at the forefront of our industry.
November 2024
We celebrate our 25th anniversary!
January 2025
Work starts on expanding our showroom, enabling us to display more products to our customers.
