What are the benefits of our Eco Plus range?

The glass explained

The Guardian ClimaGuard Neutral 1.0 was developed to meet new UK Building Regulations Part L for glazing in new homes. The thermal insulating coated glass has a Ug-value of 1.0 W/m2K. Designed for double-glazed insulating units, the glass allows natural daylight into people's homes, while looking more neutral to other 1.0 U-value glass products for residential windows.

What is a U-value?

A U-value is a measure of how quickly heat transfers through a building material or element of a house e.g. a wall, a window, a roof. The lower the U-value of an element of a building's fabric, the more slowly heat is able to transmit through it, and so the better it performs as an insulator

Old single-glazed windows can have U-values of around 5.8 W/m2K, and older double-glazed windows can be around 2.8. U-values are now much lower, and typically a good U-value for replacement windows is anything below 1.6 W/m2K. Our windows (glass and frame) are rated 1.2 U-value!
